Table 3:
Preferred Therapies for H Pylori Infection
Twice Daily Proton Pump Inhibitor or Ranitidine Bismuth Citrate Triple Therapies

PPI or ranitidine bismuth plus two of the following three agents:

  • Amoxicillin 1g BID
  • Clarithromycin 500 mg BID
  • Metronidazole 500 mg BID
Quadruple Therapy
  • PPI BID
  • Tetracycline 500 mg QID
  • Metronidazole 500 mg TID
  • Bismuth subsalicylate or subcitrate QID
