  • Depression and/or weight loss

Any three of these criteria, or any one plus positive temporal artery biopsy

  • ESR >30 mm/hr or CRP >6 mg/L
  • Shoulder and pelvic girdle pain
  • Exclusion of rheumatoid arthritis or other inflammatory arthropathy, myopathy, malignancy
  • Morning stiffness >1 hour
  • Rapid response to CS
