Music and the Brain

This one day event will focus on the relationship between music and the physiological and pathological processes in the nervous system. Click the link above to register your interest in this event.

The Heart-Brain connection and interaction is a relatively unexplored science that is gaining interest among researchers from multiple disciplines. The purpose of the Summit is to bring this relationship to the forefront in order to stimulate and advance research and patient treatments in this important field of medicine. 

Health care professionals will learn of recent discoveries and insight that relate to new treatments for cardiovascular and nervous system disorders. Importantly, cardiovascular, neurological and psychiatric conditions will be looked at in a different context.

Course Objectives

  • Define the field of heart-brain medicine
  • Review current research and literature about heart-brain interactions
  • Describe pathways involved in neuro-modulation in coronary artery disease
  • Describe measures and strategies for modulation of heart-brain interactions
  • Discuss the basic mechanism of neuromodulation of cardiac function
  • Review practices for implementing heart-brain medicine.
