Overview
The Cleveland Clinic Department of Pain Management is pleased to announce “The 10th Annual Pain Management Symposium.” We invite you to escape the cold winter weather during the week of February 16-20, 2008, and join us in the beautiful setting of Loews Coronado Bay Resort & Spa in Coronado, California, to share in a dynamic five-day symposium focused on the advances in pain medicine and regional anesthesia/analgesia.
Tremendous changes have affected the practice of pain management and regional anesthesia, not just in relation to advances in pharmacologic and interventional aspects, but particularly in the manner by which these growing subspecialties are accepted in the delivery of health care.
We have created this symposium to promote a better understanding of the pathophysiology of acute and chronic pain and to enhance knowledge of various chronic neuropathic pain conditions and of the novel state-of-the-art interventional and non-interventional techniques in the diagnosis and management of chronic pain, cancer pain, and headache.
State-of-the-art interventional techniques will be demonstrated by the world experts in the field. We have assembled a nationally and internationally renowned faculty to address current topics in acute, chronic, and cancer pain management and regional anesthesia. Special emphasis will be made this year to address risk management and emergency therapy in pain medicine.
Each day will begin with the opportunity to interact with the faculty in informal discussions during the continental breakfast. On Saturday through Tuesday, we offer an optional early afternoon cadaver workshop on various novel interventional pain management techniques.
On Sunday through Tuesday, we also offer optional late afternoon problem-based learning discussions. Join us for the Reception on Saturday evening for a fantastic social gathering opportunity among attendees, their families, friends, and faculty.
Target Audience
Practitioners and health care professionals who seek the latest developments in pain medicine, anesthesia providers, orthopaedic surgeons, primary care physicians, physical therapists, and nurses who are interested in the practice of pain management.
