Lung Summit:

Description

This course, conducted by the Cleveland Clinic’s Respiratory Institute, provides the practicing physician with an update on clinically relevant topics in the fields of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

The course focuses on:

  • obstructive lung diseases,
  • interstitial and inflammatory lung diseases,
  • lung cancer, and
  • controversies and evolving management strategies in intensive care medicine.

During the two-day course, didactic lecture sessions will be enhanced by directed questions and answers, and participants will be provided an opportunity to interact with faculty and other practicing pulmonologists, internists, family practitioners, and intensivists.

Target Audience

Pulmonologists, general internists, family practice physicians, intensivists, and other allied health practitioners who deal with areas of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine will find this course valuable in their clinical practice.

Objectives

After completing this learning activity, the participant will be able to do the following:

  • Identify advances in the areas of airway-centered lung diseases, diffuse parenchymal lung disorders, pleural space disorders, and critical care medicine
  • Discuss controversies and evolving management strategies in these fields
  • Evaluate diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms in these fields with evidence-based presentations from clinical and translational data

Ground Transportation/Parking

Taxi service is available from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to the InterContinental Hotel and Bank of America Conference Center. As an alternative, take the rapid transit train from the airport to the Terminal Tower in downtown Cleveland and from there take a taxi to the InterContinental Hotel and Bank of America

Parking is available in the 100th Street Visitor’s Parking Garage for a charge of $10 per day. Valet parking is available at the hotel for an additional charge.

Accreditation

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participants claiming CME credit from this activity may submit the credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association Council on Continuing Medical Education for Category 2 credit.

The Ohio Board of Nursing will accept at face value the number of contact hours awarded for an educational activity that has been approved for CE by a nationally accredited system of CE approval. Therefore, the 16.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits will be accepted for nursing credits.

Pre-registrations are accepted by fax or online until 4:00 pm EDT June 23, 2009. To register after this date, you must do so on-site.

In case of cancellation, a full refund will be made if canceled by June 8, 2009. After June 8, 2009, a $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. Written notification of your cancellation is required to process your refund.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JULY 31, 2009
