Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant will be able to do the following:

  • Identify the common types of bariatric operations as well as mechanisms for producing long-term weight loss
  • Define the percutaneous options for aortic valve replacement
  • Identify the impact of technology on the physical diagnosis
  • Define the physics and biologic tissue interactions of laser light
  • Appreciate the implications of depression, anxiety, and personality on heart disease
  • Achieve an understanding of the latest iterations of healthcare reform and what is likely to survive and what not
  • Improve knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Describe the relationship between biological age and chronological age
  • List modifiable risk factors for Alzheimer’s disease that may serve to delay or prevent dementia

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education designates this educational activity for a maximum of 5.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participants claiming CME credit from this activity may submit the credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association Council on Continuing Medical Education for Category 2 credit.
