Description
This one-day course will highlight recent advances in the management of thyroid disorders and thyroid cancer.
The year 2009 witnessed the publication of new guidelines in the treatment of thyroid nodules, differentiated thyroid cancer and medullary thyroid cancer. More so than ever before, innovations of new surgical technologies, thyroid cancer diagnostic tests, and new therapies for thyroid cancer are influencing patient care options.
This course is designed to address the key concepts of these advancements during lectures, panel discussions, and operative technique videos.
Target Audience
Endocrinologists, Primary Care Physicians, Surgeons, Nurses, Residents, Fellows.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss challenging scenarios of benign thyroid diseases encountered by primary care providers
- Present an up-to-date multidisciplinary approach for the management of thyroid cancers
- Highlight recent innovations in thyroid cancer diagnosis and thyroid surgery
