Description
This one day CME and CEU accredited activity will provide intensive multidisciplinary review of cutting-edge topics on providing care for cancer survivors.
Target Audience
Internists, general practitioners, family physicians, oncologists, nurses, physician assistants, physical therapists, social workers, and other healthcare providers practicing in primary care, oncology, and public health settings.
Objectives
After completing this learning activity, the participant will be able to do the following:
- Describe the process for transitioning cancer survivors from oncologists to primary care providers to ensure ongoing care;
- Discuss the management of chronic conditions, including cardiovascular disease, resulting from cancer and its treatment;
- Improve the surveillance of late effects from the primary cancer and the potential development of secondary cancers;
- Identify issues involved with geriatric cancer survivors and describe methods to address them;
- Recognize and diagnose anxiety and posttraumatic stress in cancer survivors and provide appropriate treatment;
- Define the role of pain management and nutrition in this patient population;
- Describe the available rehabilitation and physical therapy options and their potential benefits for cancer survivors.

In case of cancellation, a full refund will be made if canceled by September 15, 2010. After September 15, 2010, a $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. Written notification of your cancellation is required to process your refund.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER OCTOBER 31, 2010.
