This Ventilator Summit highlights some of the more challenging issues regarding mechanical ventilation in the ICU and features state-of-the-art lectures, audience-speaker interaction, and mechanical ventilator demonstrations.

Target Audience
Designed for respiratory therapists, respiratory therapy students, nurses, and physicians.
Objectives
After completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to do the following:
- Describe basic lung mechanics and ventilator graphics;
- Determine optimal PEEP and tidal volume based on lung mechanics;
- Identify important determinants of patient-ventilator synchrony;
- Explain current commercial approaches to computer control of weaning;
- Demonstrate ventilator troubleshooting using graphics;
- Describe the best modes of ventilation for providing patient synchrony;
- Debate the relative merits of all modes of ventilation in terms of providing safety, comfort, and enhanced liberation.

Accreditation
This program has been approved for a maximum of 8 contact hours of Continuing Respiratory Care Education (CRCE) credit by the American Association for Respiratory Care.
Registration & Cancellation
Pre-registrations are accepted by fax or online until 5:00 pm ET June 3, 2010. Registration onsite is available after this date.
In case of a cancellation, a full refund will be made if cancelled by May 21, 2010. After May 21, a $25 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. Written notification of your cancellation is required in order to process your refund.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 30, 2010.
