Description

This Ventilator Summit highlights some of the more challenging issues regarding mechanical ventilation in the ICU and features state-of-the-art lectures, audience-speaker interaction, and mechanical ventilator demonstrations.

Key topics include:

  • Optimal Patient Synchrony
  • Computer Control of Weaning – Past and Future

Objectives

After completion of this educational activity, the participant will be able to do the following:

  • Describe basic lung mechanics and ventilator graphics;
  • Determine optimal PEEP and tidal volume based on lung mechanics;
  • Identify important determinants of patient-ventilator synchrony;
  • Explain current commercial approaches to computer control of weaning;
  • Demonstrate ventilator troubleshooting using graphics;
  • Describe the best modes of ventilation for providing patient synchrony;
  • Debate the relative merits of all modes of ventilation in terms of providing safety, comfort, and enhanced liberation.

Registration & Cancellation

Pre-registrations are accepted by fax or online until 5:00 pm ET June 3, 2010. Registration onsite is available after this date.

In case of a cancellation, a full refund will be made if cancelled by May 21, 2010. After May 21, a $25 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund. Written notification of your cancellation is required in order to process your refund.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER JUNE 30, 2010.
