2012 Neurology Update –
A Comprehensive Review for the Clinician
Featuring Self-Assessment Examination
August 3-5, 2012
The Ritz-Carlton
Washington, DC
About the Course
Welcome to the 3rd annual Cleveland Clinic Neurology Update. In this year’s update we have made several changes to the topics and lineup of physicians. We hope to give you a fresh approach to understanding critical areas of neurological diagnosis and treatment with a focus on the office-based outpatient practice. We again bring you the opportunity to receive Self Assessment Examination (SAE) credit, recognizing the increasing importance of this to your maintenance of competence.
New topics for this year include spine MRI basics and the medical treatment of low back pain, given the frequency of these issues in office practice. We have also added a new topic of rapidly progressive dementias, not based on the frequency of these conditions but on the need to understand how different the approach is to this rare but unique group of patients. We have included a session on the neurological inpatient consultation, recognizing that many neurologists are increasingly being asked to take a consultant’s role in the hospital.
We have integrated comments and suggestions from our audiences of the past few years to make a course which is richer in detail, but maintains a focus on day to day practice, which we hope is refreshing. We look forward to seeing you at the Ritz-Carlton in Washington DC this summer!
