By attending, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize the evidence on the anatomy and imaging of transposition of the great arteries (TGA) and describe its surgical repair and postoperative care.
  • Describe surgical options for the repair of TGA with ventricular septal defects and left ventricular outflow obstructions.
  • Summarize the evidence on the treatment of TGA with aortic arch abnormalities, including imaging options and advances in surgical management.
  • Describe strategies for the assessment of congenitally corrected transposition of TGA, surgical approaches, and late outcomes.
  • Describe the issues associated with the management of late sequela of TGA, including transcatheter interventions, neoaortic root complications, and neoaortic pathology.
  • Analyze the data on congenital heart disease from several databases and describe the implications for clinical care of this patient population.
