Cleveland Clinic CME

Dear Colleague,

Cleveland Clinic - 75 year of CME excellence

Cleveland Clinic Celebrates 75 Years of Continuing Medical Education

2008 signifies the 75th anniversary of Continuing Medical Education at the Cleveland Clinic. The first course, in fact, was conducted long before there was an official CME designation. It was a course on Ophthalmology held in 1933, at which there were 25 attendees.  We have been accredited by the Accreditation Council of Continuing Medical Education since 1968.

The Center for Continuing Education has grown to become one of the largest academic providers of post-graduate medical education in the United States.  It certifies nearly 400 distinct activities annually and awards credit to over 86,000 participants from all around the world.  Nearly 50% of all certificates originate from web-based and journal-based CME, types of CME unimaginable in 1933.

Healthcare professionals trust the Center to deliver CME programs that provide in-depth, timely, state-of-the-art information that can, in turn, have a positive impact on clinical practice and, ultimately, patient outcomes.
