Learning Objectives
After completing this case the reader should be able to:
- Recognize patients with resistant hypertension and identify factors associated with true resistance and pseudo-resistance.
- Define true resistant hypertension, as established by guidelines.
- Describe methods to exclude pseudo-resistant hypertension from the diagnosis.
- Apply management principles to the appropriate treatment of resistant hypertension.
