Learning Objectives

After completing this case the reader should be able to:

  • Diagnosis and manage acute venous thromboembolism
  • Risk stratify submassive (i.e., intermediate risk) pulmonary embolisms
  • Recognize complications of anticoagulation and venous thromboembolism
