Description
These case-based lessons provide a clinically based overview of current issues in the multidisciplinary management of patients with lung cancer, with an emphasis on the impact of tumor staging on treatment selection.
Learning Objectives
- Identify treatment standards for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) screening, diagnosis, and staging.
- List important laboratory tests for assessing a patient's physical condition and discuss the impact of test results on the treatment options.
- Discuss treatment options for NSCLC from the viewpoints of radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and surgeons.
- Compare and contrast treatment options for adjuvant chemotherapy using either chemotherapy alone or combined chemoradiation therapy.
Target Audience
This activity is directed to medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, internists, and nurses.
