Case-Based Lessons from the
Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine
Case-based Lessons
These interactive CME activities use patient case histories to illustrate and resolve dilemmas in diagnosis and treatment. Learners are asked a series of multiple-choice questions throughout the case presentation, with immediate evidence-based feedback provided on the rationale for the correct answer choice. In some instances, these case lessons apply teaching points from selected articles in the Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine, which are cited in a “Related Material” box and accessible with a single click.
The activities address various clinical areas and are often grouped in collections of two or more case lessons, each a separate CME activity, that explore a clinical topic area from several different perspectives. They are generally intended for internists and primary care physicians, though most collections are also appropriate for health care providers in other specialties based on the focus of the collection. Each collection of case lessons has its own learning objectives and activity director.
