Description

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Define acute Herpes zoster and risk factors for development of Herpes zoster.
  2. Describe the diagnosis and treatment of acute Herpes zoster.
  3. Describe the complications associated with acute Herpes zoster.
  4. Describe epidemiology of post herpetic neuralgia and risk factors for development of post herpetic neuralgia.
  5. Differentiate between acute pain and chronic neuropathic pain.
  6. Describe the measures to prevent & treat post herpetic neuralgia.

Target Audience

Directed to primary care physicians including family practitioners and internists.
