Target Audience

Researchers and clinicians (rheumatologists, gastroenterologists, dermatologists, and pulmonologists) involved with autoimmune and inflammatory disorders and, in particular, those with an interest in the field of TNF inhibitor therapy.

Activity Design

Each lesson within the Managing the Problem Patient with Anti-TNF Inhibitors: Infectious, Malignant, Neurologic and Other Complex Issues Series includes a problem case, summary & recommendations, summary article, post-test and an evaluation.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Review the differential diagnosis of neurological manifestations in patients with immune mediated inflammatory disorders taking TNF antagonists.
  2. Summarize the animal and human studies that address the associated of demyelinating disorders with the use of anti-TNF agents.
  3. Discuss the evaluation and treatment of patients on TNF antagonists who develop CNS adverse events.
  4. view approaches to identifying and monitoring patients at increased risk for neurologic complications of TNF antagonists.
