Description
The Cardiovascular Disease in Inflammatory Arthritis: Getting to the Heart of the Matter Symposium held on May 6, 2009 in Cleveland, Ohio, was captured and repurposed into a webcast series. This educational activity is designed to increase practitioners’ knowledge of the biology and management strategies of cardiovascular disease associated with inflammatory arthritis, with the ultimate goal of improving the care of these patients.
Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Review the epidemiology of increased cardiovascular disease in rheumatoid arthritis and SLE.
- List the risk factors for atherosclerosis in patients with inflammatory arthritis.
- Describe how inflammatory disease duration and severity can influence cardiovascular outcomes.
Target Audience
This activity is designed to increase rheumatologists’, cardiologists’, and other interested healthcare professionals’ knowledge of the biology and management strategies of cardiovascular disease associated with inflammatory arthritis, with the ultimate goal of improving the care of these patients.
