The webcast series is repurposed from the Lead Extraction 2008: Critical Review and Implementation of HRS Guidelines symposium. This webcast will:
- Critically review the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) Policy Statement
- Highlight major strategies for achieving quality outcomes
- Prioritize content for an updated HRS Policy Statement

Objectives |
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Describe the expected outcomes and complications for lead extraction.
- Describe the mechanisms and purpose of locking stylets and importance of tensile strength.
- Explain the mechanism of action of telescoping sheaths and the value and risks of the various choices.

Target Audience |
Directed to cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, scientists, electrophysiologists and associated professionals who want to minimize the risk of implantable device therapy.
