Description
The purpose of this activity is to discuss management strategies for HBV-infected patients with RA and other rheumatic disease.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss risk factors for HBV infection in patients with RA and other rheumatic disease.
- Describe appropriate screening and monitoring for HBV in a patient who is a candidate for anti-rheumatic therapy.
- Recognize the risk of HBV reactivation with use of biologic DMARDs and describe appropriate antiviral prophylaxis.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for rheumatologists, primary care physicians, and other clinicians who treat patients with rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), gout, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and antineutrophil cytoplasm antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV).
