Description
The purpose of this activity is to discuss a study that evaluates the risk of hospitalization for serious infection in patients starting a TNF inhibitor (TNFi).

Learning Objectives

  1. Outline the design of a study assessing the risk of hospitalization for serious infection in patients starting a TNFi.
  2. Describe the probability of hospitalization for serious infection in patients starting a TNFi or a nonbiologic agent.
  3. Discuss the most common types of serious infections reported in patients starting a TNFi or biologic.

Target Audience
This activity is directed to rheumatologists, primary care physicians, and other clinicians who treat patients with rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), gout, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and ANCA-associated vasculitis.
