Alpha-1 Foundation Continuing Medical Education Series

Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD) is a rare disease that is often misdiagnosed. As a result, patients can go a long time without receiving the proper care or treatment causing their condition to deteriorate more rapidly than if care or treatment had been provided sooner. At least 100,000 Americans have AATD.¹ Up to 3% of all people diagnosed with COPD may have undetected Alpha-1.¹ This series is designed to aid in the knowledge, diagnostic and treatment competence needs to improve as clinicians and healthcare providers need to learn about AATD.
