DESCRIPTION
The management of multiple sclerosis is complex. There are new medications to manage the disease course, multiple symptoms that may require treatment, and spasticity can be a major issue. In addition, the care that people with MS require may occur close to home or far away, depending on their special circumstance. At the Mellen Center, we are committed to thinking regionally and nationally about the care of our patients.

This afternoon and evening program is focused on bringing the Mellen Center staff together with our regional partners in care. The general session will examine the differential diagnosis of MS, initial treatment, and review special topics in MS such as pregnancy counseling.

We will discuss as a group creating a regional network dedicated to improving care for this special population. Small group sessions will focus on the management of the bowel and bladder, symptom management, rehabilitation, and complex cases. There will be ample time for discussion and questions.

In addition, there will be time to get to know members of the Mellen Center staff and for the staff to get to know you. We will use the audience response system to enhance the experience and help us learn more about your opinions.
