Welcome to Chicago

Chicago is truly a city with something for everyone!

For the best in holiday shopping there are the world famous stores and boutiques of Chicago’s Gold Coast. The hotel’s superb location gives you the opportunity to explore what this great city has to offer.

You will only be a short walk from the highlights like the vibrant Navy Pier, innovative Millennium Park, and the ‘Magnificent Mile’ shopping district of Michigan Avenue. Chicago’s rapid transit system, known as the ‘L’, is conveniently located nearby the Hyatt Regency to take you to Wrigley Field or the Sears Tower.

The Magnificent Mile, that fabled section of North Michigan Avenue, offers Bloomingdale’s, Nike Town, Eddie Bauer, Lord & Taylor, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Filene’s Basement, and much more.

In additional, there are the department stores on Chicago’s historic State Street - Macy’s (formerly Marshall Field’s), at the corner of State and Randolph; and Sears, at the corner of State and Madison. Old Navy, H&M, and Forever 21 also have large stores on State Street and are good picks for the student budget.

Chicago’s museums are worthy of a day’s visit in themselves, particularly The Field Museum, home of SUE, the largest, most complete T-Rex ever discovered. You can also choose to visit the world famous Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium, or the Museum of Science and Industry.

Musical offerings vary from The Chicago Symphony Orchestra and The Lyric Opera to the many blues and jazz nightspots located throughout the city. You may enjoy sampling the variety of the Steppenwolf, Goodman, and Victory Gardens theater companies. (Victory Gardens won the 2001 Tony Award for Best Regional Theater Company.) You may want to experience the fun at Chicago’s famous comedy club, Second City. You will certainly want to sample the fare at the wide variety of restaurants featuring cuisine from all over the world.
