DESCRIPTION
This course will focus on the difficult headache patient in both the pediatric and adult population with detail in identification, management, and treatment. It will also provide an overview of secondary causes such as medication overuse, concussion and other head trauma, infection, thrombosis, vascular abnormalities, and neck pathology. An update on pain syndromes such as Fibromyalgia and Temporomandibular Disorders will also be discussed. There will be breakout sessions on the topics of TMJ and how to take a headache history via mock appointments.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This headache course is intended for physicians, dentists, physician assistants and all health care providers involved in the diagnosis and management of patients with headache, neck pain and other related chronic pain disorders.

This course will be of special interest to those in the field of: neurology, dentistry, internal medicine, family practice, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, pain management, primary care, physical therapy or psychiatry.
