Description
The purpose of this activity is to provide an update on the most current, state-of-the-art issues regarding ambulatory urology from both a practice and medical standpoint. The lectures will focus on everyday ambulatory urological issues, recognizing that the majority of most practicing urologists’ workload is outside hospital-based care. Additional emphasis will be in the realm of measurement of quality outcomes from urologic interventions.
Target Audience
Practicing urologists and other professionals interested in issues relating to ambulatory urology.
Course Objectives
After completing participation in this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Define the role of surgical approaches for the correction of anatomic causes of incontinence.
- Summarize advances in the management of medical and surgical stone disease.
- Discuss current guidance for prostate cancer screening in light of the US Preventative Health Panel recommendations.
- Describe advances in diagnostic testing and management for common ambulatory urologic conditions including prostatitis, male factor infertility, and urethral strictures.
