Learning Objectives

After completing this case the reader should be able to:

  1. Identify risk factors and apply a basic management approach to postoperative Crohn’s disease.
  2. Recognize extraintestinal manifestations that parallel disease activity in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
  3. Recognize indicated vaccinations in immunosuppressed patients with IBD.
  4. Identify implications of pregnancy on the care of patients with IBD.

Target Audience

Directed to primary care physicians including family practitioners and internists.
