Description
To evaluate the safety and efficacy data from a randomized, placebo-controlled phase 2 clinical trial of a spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk) inhibitor in patients with active RA despite methotrexate therapy.

Objectives
On completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Outline the role of Syk in the immunopathogenesis of RA.
  2. Compare and contrast the effects of placebo and Syk inhibition on measures of disease activity.
  3. Describe the adverse events resulting from Syk inhibition.

Target Audience
This activity is directed to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals interested in RA.
