Podcast Technical Requirements
To participate in podcasts, you will need:
- an Internet connection.
- Quicktime, Adobe Media Player or Windows Media Player to play audio podcasts, Quicktime for video podcasts.
- Jukebox or podcast receiver software like iTunes, ziePOD or Juice (optional). These make downloading and organizing podcasts easier.
Video podcasts can have larger file sizes and require a broadband connection to the Internet.
iTunes Jukebox software will make it easy to subscribe to a podcasts, receive automatic updates to new content, transfer podcasts to an iPod, MP3 player , MP3-CD or audio CD. iTunes (with Quicktime) is available here as a free download. If you do not have jukebox or podcast receiver software on your computer, you can download podcasts directly to your computer, and listen with media player software. Another option is to use a web-based podcast aggregator like Google Reader or Yahoo!.
To listen to the audio podcasts at your computer you will need speakers connected to your computer, and software to play MP3 audio files (iTunes, Winamp, MediaPlayer or similar software).
To view the video podcasts, you will need Quicktime, available here as a free download. iTunes is also available on this page.

Simply click on the subscribe button or link, and all of the podcast files available in this feed will appear in iTunes or similar software. If you need iTunes or QuickTime, follow the links at the top of the page to download this free software.

How do I download podcasts?
To download a podcast, click on the ‘get’ or ‘download’ button in your jukebox or podcast receiver.
The podcast you selected will begin downloading to your computer. With a broadband connection it generally takes up to 5 - 10 minutes to download each audio podcast, and up to 15-25 minutes for each video podcast. The time it takes will vary based on your connection speed to the internet.
Each audio podcast requires 10MB - 25MB of space on your hard drive. Video podcasts session can require from 25MB to 100MB of space (occasionally more), depending on the length of the video Podcast.
Play!
In your jukebox or podcast receiver, highlight the podcast you want to watch/listen to and click Play. The podcast will begin playing on your computer. To transfer your audio podcasts to a CD or media player, consult the help feature in your jukebox or podcast receiver.
