Description

Emerging Therapies in Heart Disease offers presentations and discussions of patient history and new surgical advancements coupled with a live interactive discussion with program faculty.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain the fundamental concepts relating to endovascular repair including fixation and sealing.
  2. Recognize the imaging reconstruction methods best suited to assess morphology of the thoracic aorta.
  3. Identify issues detectable on follow-up studies that may cause clinical concern.
  4. Describe the natural history and indications for repair of thoracic aortic aneurysmal disease.
  5. Review the conduct of operations and outcomes of various open, endovascular and hybrid approaches to arch and descending aortic disease.
  6. Recognize the options available for managing the aortic valve and selecting the appropriate procedure.
