Emerging Therapies in Heart Disease offers presentations and discussions of patient history and new surgical advancements coupled with a live interactive discussion with program faculty. |
Objectives |
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Explain the fundamental concepts relating to endovascular repair including fixation and sealing.
- Recognize the imaging reconstruction methods best suited to assess morphology of the thoracic aorta.
- Identify issues detectable on follow-up studies that may cause clinical concern.
- Describe the natural history and indications for repair of thoracic aortic aneurysmal disease.
- Review the conduct of operations and outcomes of various open, endovascular and hybrid approaches to arch and descending aortic disease.
- Recognize the options available for managing the aortic valve and selecting the appropriate procedure.
