Description |
The Cleveland Clinic presents Reaching New Heights: Preventing Venous Thromboembolism Throughout the Continuum of Care, on-demand webcasts series. This CME learning activity will focus on clinical practices for VTE prophylaxis in the following populations: medical patients, cancer surgery patients, and orthopedic surgery patients (including hip fracture, knee or hip replacement). |
Objectives |
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss the lack of data supporting the use of IVC filters as prophylaxis in neurosurgical patients.
- Describe the clinical basis for the lack of use of pharmacologic VTE prophylaxis in gynecology-oncology surgery patients.
