Description / Overview

The purpose of this activity is to examine the risk of malignancy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), clarify the association of malignancy and treatment for RA, and determine treatment options for a patient with RA who has a history of lymphoma.

Objectives At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
  1. Explain the relative risks for specific malignancies in patients with RA.
  2. Review safety data concerning malignancy and the use of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) or biologics in patients with RA.
  3. Discuss treatment options for a patient with RA who has a history of lymphoma.
Target Audience This activity is directed to rheumatologists and primary care physicians who treat patients with RA.
