Description |
The Cleveland Clinic presents Reaching New Heights: Preventing Venous Thromboembolism Throughout the Continuum of Care, on-demand webcasts series. This CME learning activity will focus on clinical practices for VTE prophylaxis in the following populations: medical patients, cancer surgery patients, and orthopedic surgery patients (including hip fracture, knee or hip replacement). |
Objectives |
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Describe the incidence of VTE and the impact of associated risk factors.
- Review the current therapies and their outcomes for preventing VTE.
- Discuss evidence-based strategies for preventing VTE in the medically ill patient.
