Description |
The Cleveland Clinic presents Reaching New Heights: Preventing Venous Thromboembolism Throughout the Continuum of Care, on-demand webcasts series. This CME learning activity will focus on clinical practices for VTE prophylaxis in the following populations: medical patients, cancer surgery patients, and orthopedic surgery patients (including hip fracture, knee or hip replacement). |
Objectives |
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss the available data on thromboprophylaxis of the surgical cancer patient.
- Review national guidelines, including those from ACCP and NCCN, for thromboprophylaxis of the surgical cancer patient.
- Review the use of these guidelines for the surgical cancer patient at risk of venous thrombosis.
