Description

The Cleveland Clinic presents Reaching New Heights: Preventing Venous Thromboembolism Throughout the Continuum of Care, on-demand webcasts series. This CME learning activity will focus on clinical practices for VTE prophylaxis in the following populations: medical patients, cancer surgery patients, and orthopedic surgery patients (including hip fracture, knee or hip replacement).

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss the available data on thromboprophylaxis of the surgical cancer patient.
  2. Review national guidelines, including those from ACCP and NCCN, for thromboprophylaxis of the surgical cancer patient.
  3. Review the use of these guidelines for the surgical cancer patient at risk of venous thrombosis.
