American University of Beirut, Lebanon

The Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and the Continuing Medical Education Office at American University of Beirut, Lebanon are collaborating to offer Continuing Medical Education Credit (CME) for activities that are jointly developed in Lebanon and the Middle East.

Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education. A teaching-centered research university, AUB has around 700 instructional faculty and a student body of around 8,000 students. The University encourages freedom of thought and expression and seeks to graduate men and women committed to creative and critical thinking, life-long learning, personal integrity, civic responsibility, and leadership.

Autism Research Institute (ARI)

The Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and the Autism Research Institute are collaborating to offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credit for an Autism Education series.

The Autism Research Institute (ARI) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization focused on conducting and sponsoring research aimed at improving the quality of life for today’s generation of children and adults with autism spectrum disorders.


The BMJ (British Medical Journal) is an international peer reviewed medical journal. The Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and The BMJ collaborate to provide continuing medical education credit to readers of select articles in the medical journal. Through our partnership with CMEInfo, we have made available for purchase a number of medical board review courses in DVD, CD, or MP3 discs. Titles currently available are:


Doximity, the country's largest professional network for physicians, is partnered with Cleveland Clinic to offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ to over 230,000 physicians through an internet searching and learning program. Doximity's tools allow members to search the core medical journals for articles relevant to patient care. Under the arrangement with Cleveland Clinic, Doximity users can obtain CME credit for finding answers to their clinical questions and applying it to their practice. Participants receive a certificate for all CME earned and can manage their online record of completed credits on the Doximity website.

In 2009 and 2010, Elsevier published editions of "Current Clinical Medicine." This printed textbook, which comes with a web site version accessible by registration key to purchasers of the book, was based on The Cleveland Clinic Disease Management Project, an online medical textbook that is free and was first made available on this web site in 2002. The Elsevier textbook incorporates some topics that were covered in the Disease Management Project but has many additional chapters and adds the specialty of Preventive Medicine. Read more

The Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education and Peking Union Medical College Hospital in Beijing, China are collaborating on a bi-lingual (English-Mandarin) continuing medical education website.

Peking Union Medical College Hospital is a top ranked medical institution in China with a 2,000-bed hospital and 4,000 staff members, including nearly 700 professors. Both Cleveland Clinic and Peking Union Medical College Hospital are nonprofit institutions founded in 1921, with shared common values that include cooperation, compassion, and innovation aimed at improving patients’ outcomes, while emphasizing continuing medical education and research.

Several education division departments have collaborated with the center to produce and certify CME activities.

Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine

The Cleveland Clinic Journal of Medicine includes articles in each issue that are CME accredited. Readers of these articles can go online to complete a post-test and claim credit and receive a CME certificate. Instructions for receiving CME credit are published in the Journal. CME participants receive credit through this web site's myCME utility and can see a transcript of completed journal CMEs in addition to their online CMEs.
