It gives us great pleasure to invite you to attend The Fourth Annual Atrial Fibrillation Summit / EP in Aspen, sponsored by
the Cleveland Clinic Departments of Cardiovascular Medicine and Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in conjunction with
The Southern Colorado Heart Institute, September 14-17, 2006, at the St. Regis Resort in Aspen, Colorado.
Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained arrhythmia, affecting millions of people worldwide. It affects over 2.5
million people and causes 10 – 15% of all strokes. Treatment of this arrhythmia has rapidly evolved using phenomenal new technological advances.
At The Fourth Annual Atrial Fibrillation Summit / EP in Aspen, a distinguished international faculty will present new
developments in the medical, interventional, and surgical treatments of atrial fibrillation, including cutting edge research
into etiologies of AF, new tools, genetics and autonomics. Additionally, new advances in cardiac resynchronization and
electrical therapies of heart failure will also be discussed.
This year, the conference will be very clinically based with exciting demonstrations and discussions on the newest technologic advances that are used around the world. There will be moderated and roundtable discussions with faculty
members, allowing the audience to interact with the world's experts in arrhythmias.
Summit Objectives
Following the Summit, participants will be able to:
- Compare catheter and surgical treatment of atrial fibrillation
- Determine appropriate therapy for a patient with atrial fibrillation
- Describe the indications for ablation
- Recognize complications of interventional therapy for atrial fibrillation
Target Audience
The summit will be geared toward Electrophysiologists,
Cardiologist, Cardiac Surgeons, Internists, and Advance Practice Nurses who have an interest in and or manage Atrial Fibrillation patients.
