Overview

Advance your glaucoma expertise with a focused program designed to strengthen surgical decision-making across the full spectrum of disease. Learn how to select and manage procedures ranging from complex cataract surgery and MIGS to XEN, explore emerging therapies, and discover how imaging tools and perimetry can enhance planning and follow-up.

Gain practical strategies for efficient, scalable glaucoma care, alongside contemporary approaches to surgical training, innovation, neuroprotection, and lifestyle-based management.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Evaluate and select appropriate surgical interventions across the glaucoma spectrum, including cataract surgery in complex glaucoma eyes and the use of MIGS, XEN Gel Stent, trabeculectomy, and tube shunts.
  • Identify and manage complications and surgical failures following trabeculectomy, tube shunt surgery, and XEN implantation using advanced revision techniques and postoperative intraocular pressure optimization strategies.
  • Assess and integrate emerging glaucoma therapies and technologies—including sustained-release drug delivery systems and novel drainage and uveoscleral outflow devices—into evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Apply structural and functional imaging modalities (OCT, AS-OCT, UBM, and perimetry) to surgical planning, risk detection, and postoperative surveillance.
  • Implement efficient, scalable models of glaucoma care, including office-based procedures, OD/MD co-management, and systems-based workflows, to improve patient access, safety, and outcomes.
  • Incorporate contemporary approaches to glaucoma education and innovation, including structured surgical training, simulation, data-driven decision-making, and evidence-based strategies related to neuroprotection and lifestyle modification
