The Diabetic Retinopathy educational series provides an overview, recommendations for management, and the valuable perspectives of both a patient and the healthcare team. The Diabetic Retinopathy Overview webcast will provide an overview of diabetes retinopathy and its impact on the patient.

As you pursue education related to diabetes management, we invite you to reflect on possible ways the learning may positively impact your practice. Learning Objectives

  1. Increase awareness within HCPs and patients regarding the significance of annual retinal eye examinations, timely referrals, and well-coordinated follow-up.
  2. Increase the level of knowledge and skill for primary care physicians and endocrinologists to conduct timely and effective screening for diabetic retinopathy.
  3. Review treatment options.

This educational activity is designed for primary care practitioners and endocrinologists.

Accreditation

In support of improving patient care, Cleveland Clinic Center for Continuing Education is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

American Medical Association (AMA)

The Cleveland Clinic Foundation Center for Continuing Education designates this enduring material for a maximum of 0.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Participants claiming CME credit from this activity may submit the credit hours to the American Osteopathic Association for Category 2 credit.


American Board of Internal Medicine MOC

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 0.75 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

Your credit will be reported to the ABIM within 30 days of claiming credit.


American Academy of Family Physicians

The AAFP has reviewed Diabetic Retinopathy: A quality educational intervention/process improvement designed to enhance timely screening and promote appropriate coordination and deemed it acceptable for up to 3.00 Enduring Materials, Self-Study AAFP Prescribed credit. Term of Approval is from 11/30/2021 to 11/30/2022. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
