About the Course/Learning Objectives

The goal of this course is to provide practicing physicians, residents, fellows, and nurses in medical oncology, otolaryngology, radiation oncology, and head and neck surgery with a contemporary update of management strategies of head and neck cancer using a multidisciplinary approach. Lecture and panels will provide a forum for discussion of updated therapies and new treatment innovations.

As a result of attending this conference, the participant should be able to:

  • Highlight the importance and necessity of the multidisciplinary approach in treatment of head and neck cancer.
  • Discuss the current role of immunotherapy in head and neck cancer.
  • Update his/ her knowledge regarding modern surgical techniques including transoral robotic surgery approach.
  • Identify appropriate patient selection for chemoradiation in definitive and adjuvant settings.
  • Discuss results of de-intensification of therapy for favorable HPV-associated cancers.
  • Discuss the predictive and prognostic information of detecting HPV-associated cancer.
