Thursday - Primary Care

  • Apply recent evidence from clinical research to improve management of complex conditions commonly encountered in primary care, including obesity, hypertension, functional gastrointestinal disorders, chronic pain, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and survivorship after prostate cancer treatment.
  • Implement appropriate evaluation, monitoring, and longitudinal care strategies for medically complex populations, including organ transplant recipients and patients with suspected hyperaldosteronism.
  • Optimize pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment approaches for chronic disease management, including GLP-1–based therapies for obesity, newer analgesic agents for chronic pain, and referral pathways for musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Interpret pulmonary diagnostic testing and integrate evidence-based management of respiratory diseases, including updated treatment strategies for COPD and asthma.

Friday - Cardiovascular Updates and Behavioral Health

  • Apply current guideline-based strategies for cardiovascular risk reduction and disease management, including lipid lowering with PCSK-9 inhibitors, secondary ASCVD prevention, anticoagulation management, non-invasive cardiac imaging, and optimization of heart failure therapy.
  • Evaluate complex medication decisions by balancing risks and benefits in patients requiring antithrombotic or cardiovascular therapies.
  • Recognize, assess, and manage common behavioral and psychiatric conditions encountered in primary care, including delirium in older adults, autism spectrum disorder in adults, sleep disorders, personality disorders, and complex psychiatric presentations.
  • Implement communication strategies, multidisciplinary care coordination, and appropriate referral pathways to improve outcomes for patients with behavioral health needs.

Saturday - Women’s Health
