11:30 am - Lunch

WORKSHOP 1 (Limited to 15 participants)

Integrative Medicine Treatment Techniques for the Pediatric Patient

Penina Gross-Richmond, Jessie Stricker and Candice Melkerson

This interactive workshop introduces integrative approaches for managing spasticity and related musculoskeletal conditions. Participants will learn the basics of Frequency Specific Microcurrent (FSM) therapy, the Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), and core osteopathic and manual techniques. This session includes an overview of clinical applications used in pediatric integrative medicine. Hands-on experience in small groups will be provided to enhance learning.

WORKSHOP 2 (Limited to 30 participants)

Swallow to Self-Feeding: Comprehensive Treatment of Neuromuscular Impairment

Danielle Griffin, Nikki Gipson and Emily Pateras

This workshop will provide a comprehensive look at feeding for children with hypertonicity. Workshop participants will review typical and atypical feeding milestones. Participants will discuss assessment and intervention strategies from infancy through childhood. During the hands-on lab session, course participants will compare and trial a variety of adaptive equipment, including seating options, bottles, cups, utensils, and plates.

WORKSHOP 3 (Limited to 25 participants)

Adventures in Adult Lower Extremity Orthotics

Randy Karim

Selecting the optimal orthosis for a patient can be a very tricky, multifactorial decision. Choosing the ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ AFO can significantly impact a patient’s mobility, wellness, risk for falls, and ultimately, quality of life. This workshop will cover clinical decision-making for lower extremity orthoses pertinent to patients with neurological conditions. Presentations, case studies, and laboratory experience will enhance this interactive course.

WORKSHOP 4 (Limited to 20 participants)

Update on Intrathecal Baclofen Therapy for Spasticity

Francois Bethoux, Christina Hardesty, Noel Pristas and Juliet Zakel

This workshop will combine a presentation on the latest peer-reviewed literature on intrathecal baclofen (ITB) therapy for spasticity of cerebral and spinal origin, a discussion of complex cases, and hands-on training to procedures related to ITB therapy management.

AFTERNOON: Workshops 5-8

12:30 pm - Instruction

2:30 pm - Refreshment Break

2:45 pm - Instruction

4:30 pm - Adjourn

WORKSHOP 5 (Limited to 26 participants)

Applied Manual Therapy for the Adult Neurologic Patient

Robby Robinson, Connor Geer and Eric Whalen

This lab-based workshop provides participants with hands-on instruction in manual joint mobilization techniques for the shoulder, ankle, hip, thoracic spine, and ribcage to enhance passive and active range of motion. Through lecture, demonstration, and guided practice, attendees will learn to perform and interpret functional movement assessments and apply mobilization strategies in patients with central nervous system (CNS) dysfunction. Clinical implications and guidelines for use in neurologically involved populations will also be addressed.

WORKSHOP 6 (Limited to 20 participants)

Ultrasound Guided Chemodenervation Procedures for Spasticity Management

Geraldine Dapul, Juliet Hou and Ameya Joshi

This workshop will include a presentation on the principles of ultrasound (US) guided chemoneurolysis procedures for the management of spasticity followed by hands-on training with a focus on muscle and nerve localization.

WORKSHOP 7 (Limited to 30 participants)

Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) Assessment and Treatment

Amy Cassady, Mary Kate Hutchinson and Lauren Nelson

This introductory workshop provides a comprehensive overview of Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), including its diagnosis and key treatment concepts. Participants will learn to identify appropriate assessment tools and gain confidence in initiating treatment strategies for both adult and pediatric patients. It will emphasize practical approaches, such as using diverted attention training techniques for motor retraining and introduce nervous system regulation strategies to help manage FND symptoms.

WORKSHOP 8 (Limited to 12 participants)

Therapeutic Taping and Strapping to Facilitate Motor Function for Neuromotor Impairments

Trish Martin, Sarah Fultz and Nikki Gipson

This workshop will introduce the use of taping and strapping techniques as an adjunct to therapeutic interventions in the treatment of adults and children with neurologic impairments. The primary focus will be education on the use of taping and strapping techniques and strategies to optimize motor function. Participants will have hands-on opportunities to compare and contrast taping materials. The workshop will combine lecture, demonstration, labs and case examples for the upper extremity, lower extremity, and trunk.
