Participate in this CME-certified, on demand online education for a unique opportunity to update your knowledge and understanding of both traditional and new therapeutic strategies for a range of critically important medical dermatologic conditions, including rheumatology-dermatology overlap diseases, medical dermatologic diseases, psoriatic disease, and the interprofessional approach to patients on biologics.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explore the concept of a patient-centered medical home as a new model of care
  2. Describe the specialty medical home and how this differs from the traditional IBD center of excellence 
  3. Outline the emerging concept of medical neighborhoods and the potential for specialty population health
  4. Explore the updates in Bullous Pemphigoid
  5. Describe the various roles of an Advanced Practice Provider
  6. Discuss roles and responsibilities of the ambulatory clinical pharmacist and specialty pharmacist
  7. Review definition of specialty pharmacy
  8. Evaluate challenges regarding patient access to specialty medications
  9. Identify potential benefits of interdisciplinary care with clinical pharmacists
  10. Identify challenges to incorporating a clinical pharmacist into an ambulatory clinic
  11. Summarize the importance of an interprofessional team approach for optimal care of patients with complex medical dermatologic diseases, and provide examples of effective team workflows.

Target Audience

This course is designed for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, advanced practice clinicians, physician assistants, residents, fellows and allied health professionals in dermatology, immunology, oncology, rheumatology, internal medicine, family medicine, and general practice.
