Overview

This course offers an in-depth exploration of key areas in dermatology, from advanced surgical techniques and cosmetic innovations to groundbreaking medical treatments for hair disorders and skin conditions. In addition, we will celebrate the storied career of Dr. Wilma Bergfeld.

Participants will gain expert insights into the latest developments in skin cancer treatment, surgical interventions, and cosmetic dermatology. The curriculum also delves into hair disorders, examining both medical therapies and procedural advancements that enhance patient outcomes. We will address medical dermatology, covering the diagnosis and management of complex skin conditions with evidence-based approaches. Additionally, participants will receive valuable dermatopathology pearls, deepening their understanding of microscopic skin analysis and diagnostic strategies.

By attending, you will be able to:

  • Discuss skin cancer, surgery and cosmetic dermatology, including surgical pearls, germline genetics in melanoma, dermoscopy of non-melanoma skin cancers, atypical surgical site infections, surgical management of HS, management of port wine stains, synthetic surgical dressings, laser surgery for dermatologic conditions, and acne scar treatment.
  • Review the medical and procedural advancements in hair disorders, including regenerative therapies for hair loss, JAKI in alopecia areata, hormonal modulation in women with alopecia, and others.
  • Critically appraise approaches for diagnosing medical dermatology conditions and managing them with biologics and small-molecule inhibitors, including lymphomatoid reactions, drug reactions, new and emerging infectious diseases, connective tissue diseases, and HS. 
  • Analyze and critically appraise clinical approaches to dermatopathology.
