Join us for Pride in Practice 2026!
Why Attend?
This CE-certified, live symposium is designed to review best practices that highlight the latest therapies, procedures, and diagnostics for the LGBTQ+ patient. The LGBTQ+ population represents a diverse group of individuals with unique healthcare needs that often go unmet due to barriers in accessing care, the knowledge of providers in the assessment of health risk and guideline-based care. Despite growing awareness of differing health outcomes, LGBTQ+ patients continue to face barriers to accessing affirming, high-quality healthcare. This symposium seeks to identify systemic challenges and opportunities for improvement to ensure safe, effective, evidence-based healthcare for LGBTQ+ individuals.

- Assess and critically appraise healthcare services for LGBTQ+ populations and identify areas for system change to better care for LGBTQ+ populations.
- Identify gaps in care, training, and policy that contribute to outcomes and highlight areas for system-wide change to create safe environments and improve health outcomes.
- Identify culturally sensitive, evidence-based screening questions for relevant health risks, including cancer screenings, infectious disease, and cardiovascular disease. Management of associated health risks through preventive and guideline-based care.
- Identify and define key steps of guideline-based gender-affirming care, including WPATH recommendations, care paths and available surgical interventions.
- Provide appropriate assessment and care for non-binary patients, understanding current guidelines, gaps in recommendations, and utilizing shared decision making with the patient.
- Utilize evidence-based approach to the assessment of key mental health issues in the LGBTQ+ patient population including stress management and addiction as well as making use of local patient referral resources to address these concerns.
