Learning Objectives
After completing this case the reader should be able to:
- Discuss strategies for assessing psoriasis severity and its value in selecting appropriate treatment options.
- Describe the relationship between psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and the importance of screening for psoriatic arthritis in patients with psoriasis.
- Recognize treat-to-target goals for patients with moderate-to-severe psoriasis.
- Summarize the safety and efficacy of the various biologic classes available to treat psoriasis.
- Debate the evidence linking biologic treatment with the risk of future cardiovascular events in patients with psoriasis.
- Identify new medications approved to treat psoriasis.
