PowerPoint™ e-Poster Guidelines
- Format:
- Use wide-screen layout in landscape orientation
- The title on e-Poster file must match the title of the abstract
- Background music is not acceptable
- The PowerPoints must be HIPAA compliant: PowerPoints submitted with identifiable patient information or features will not be allowed. Please obscure patient name on any images, removing personal information and blur the patient’s face if not part of procedure.
- Do not use copyrighted images or videos unless you are the copyright holder or have obtained copyright permission from the publisher. Copyright permission must be uploaded as one of the five allowable figures/tables.
- Ensure that text graphics are legible
- Keep content at least 50 pixels from the screen edges. Do not extend text or artwork to the edge of the background. Leave a sufficient margin of space on your screen to ensure the entirety of content is visible.
- Length: 5 minutes (maximum)
- Voice-over:
- Ensure clear and concise language.
- Voice recording must be embedded within the PowerPoint file to ensure automatic playback.
- Colors:
- Dark color backgrounds (e.g. blue, green, etc.) project better when used with light colored text (e.g. white, yellow). Avoid red except for chart or graph elements (e.g. color bar) as red is difficult to see from a distance.
- Avoid “textured” templates, these increase your file size and project unpredictably on large screens. Very bright or loud colors tend to be distracting to the audience.
- Fonts:
- Use common fonts (e.g. Arial, Times, etc.). Unusual fonts may not be loaded on the presentation computer and therefore will be automatically substituted, generating unpredictable displayed results.
- Font size should not be smaller than 18 pt.
